Mahabodhi Temple was built by emperor Ashoka the great in around 260 BC. The Mahabodhi temple is located at the Bodh Gaya district of Bihar state in India. It is being acknowledged as the world heritage site by UNESCO.

The great Ashoka visited Bodh Gaya to establish a shrine on this holy place in 250 BC. Tjis temple is the center of festivals and is celebrated for Lord Buddha.
